Print mounting, matting
and framing

A mat and frame enhance both the beauty and the permanence of a photo enlargement. It's surprising how much more impressive a good photo becomes when placed within a well-chosen mat and frame, and glass over the print (but never in contact!) protects the image from all sorts of hazards including much of the ultraviolet radiation which can eventually begin to fade even our archival pigment-based prints.

Our Gatorfoam mounting service is a simpler and less expensive alternative to traditional matting and framing. It's perfect for trade shows and other temporary exhibitions.

Gatorfoam Mounting Prices

8X10: $15.50

11X16: $18.00

16X23: $26.50

20X30: $36.00

24X36: $53.00

Matting and Framing Prices depend on the print size, frame choice and other options such as single or double mats. To give one example, the cost for framing a 16X20 print with a single mat in a high-quality metal or wood frame, including glass and hanging wire, is $124.

Gatorfoam has always been our print mounting substrate of choice. Other foam-core mount boards have a strong tendency to warp, either immediately or over time as a result of changes in temperature or humidity, but Gatorfoam stays flat.

We use the black-core product, so no additional edge finishing is required. The thickness is 3/16 inch (about 5mm). Even a large print mounted on Gatorfoam is light and easy to hang.

Our Gatorfoam mounting service is ideal for a simple but permanent flush mount.

Our matting and framing is provided by Randy Blankenship, a local photo artist. Randy is knowledgable and meticulous when it comes to framing photos, and always uses archival materials and techniques. He makes sure that each mat cut is perfect, the frame corners are tight, the glass is clean, and the back of the frame is properly sealed.

We have a large selection of frame corners and mat board samples for you to choose from, and we'll be glad to help you make the perfect selections to compliment each image.
